Office Partitioning Surrey: Overview

We started working for Kana and his team at Altiostar in August 2013 when they moved into a new building in Weybridge, Surrey. This work was to carry out and install some full height double glazed partitioning to create a meeting room and board room on the second floor of the new building. This normally would be a straightforward installation but the access to the the second floor was via a spiral staircase. The work as carried out prior to the client moving in later that month.

August 2014 we were called back by the clients, due to the success and expansion they had they needed to alter the existing board room and install an additional office to the second floor. We additionally had to form an opening through the concrete wall to the neighbouring ground floor office suite this work entailed removing of an existing kitchen installing a one hour fire rated door and dealing with all building regulations matters.

March 2015, Kana contacted us again with the view to move to new premises this giving them over 9000 ft.² of office and production space within one building on one level with direct access to the outside to increase the ease of deliveries shipments. After months of planning and scheduling we started work in November 2015. This project entailed removing of the existing partitioning of the previous tenants to suit the new layout. Creating two large lab production areas with a dividing wall between them, two with full height double doors linking the front areas, using full height single glazed frameless partitioning with full height oak double doors.

Creation of two directors offices are were created using 12.8 mm acoustic frameless glass partitioning complete with frames acoustic glass doors. Other work carried out were to reinstate existing carpets, redecoration to building and reinstatement of a small section of suspended ceiling using a 500mm by 500mm tiles, this was carried out on schedule and was completed within a four and half week programme.

One of the biggest challenges with this project was the continual moving of the remaining furniture and storage wall which to be out of the way of all the contactors.

We also arranged for the clients to be moved from their existing premises through to the new building this completed over an agreed timeframe with the main move being carried out over a weekend to reduce any downtime.

January 2016 after the Christmas break we complied the dilapidations on their old building with infilling the knock through reinstating the kitchen, decoration throughout the building including new carpet throughout complete with the signage and deep clean.

In early 2015, we were looking at how to overcome some challenges in our business workspace.

We had recently sold our previous headquarters site, and had invested in a converted barn property which needed to serve our growth plans for the next few years at least. The problem was, at that time, it really was just a shell! There was plenty of space, but it needed reshaping, and separating into a professional, smart, functional workspace. We knew roughly what we wanted, but had little personal experience in efficiently changing space into a working environment. In short, we knew we needed expert help.

During our initial phone call it became apparent that we were dealing with an experienced team who had undertaken several similar projects. The nice thing was that Lee (the owner) offered a complimentary visit to our site to help us visualise some options and to get a feel for the potential project. We told him what we wanted and he was reactive and considerate to our requests.

On the day of the site visit, Lee arrived on time and was well prepared, after about an hour of discussing and measuring he left the site; explaining that he would draft up a scale drawing for him to confirm sizes and other details to allow for a detailed office plan to be created.

Within a week, Lee was back in contact. He had drawn up an overview of the project, and provided photographs of similar work he had completed recently. This gave us the confidence to move forward to a quote.

The team at Sussex and Surrey Partitioning were quick at putting together a detailed quote which arrived looking professional and detailed, which I was able to take forward to our Directors’ meeting. We decided to use Lee and his team because they came up with solutions to our particular situation which made perfect sense. From when work was started on the site, the project was completed within just two weeks. This was great, as we were keen to get into the building and start enjoying the new space. We found SS&P very responsive to our changing needs and revised completion deadlines. What I was most impressed by was their adaptability and the practical approach to the solutions they suggested.
